This paper analyses urban environmental management and environmental governance policies. The ecological environment is an important aspect of all living things. Its protection is essential for the health of these living organisms. Urban areas are highly developed areas with high populations. It is characterized by a lot of trade activities and improved infrastructure. Therefore, it is most prone to influence by agents of environmental degradation. Governments globally are working towards improving their urban environments. These include initiatives such as green infrastructure and urban green space. These initiatives are essential for creating pollution-free environments. Also, other sectors, such as logistics and supply chain, are embracing the concept. They are introducing initiatives for green logistics and green supply chains.

ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE POLICIES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
Environmental governance policies are the controlling and coordination of initiatives of protecting the environment from degradation. Pollution is rampant in developing countries due to a lack of clear environmental policies. For example, in Bangladesh, the population of the cities is very high. This is hence one major contributor to pollution. The agents of environmental degradation are as a result of human activities. Some of the policies developed in Bangladesh include supporting community-based organizations and strengthening public institutions’ adaptive capacity. Moreover, organizing creative dialogues and unity on work. Therefore, these policies are a step to improving environmental conditions for living organisms’ survival. Urban environmental management is essential for building a sustainable climate, resilient cities.

THE SOCIAL IMPACTS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS
The agents of environmental degradation are elements causing the decay of the environment. This section analyses the social impacts of environmental pollution. Agents of degradation affect the environment temporarily or permanently. Therefore, impacts can be reversible or irreversible. The society is the most affected by these impacts. Companies that don’t have well-organized environmental governance policies contribute most to environmental pollution. Some of the pollution contributors include air emissions from vehicles, oil spillage in water bodies, and excessive dumping. Also, the contribution of other factors is due to overpopulation. Pollution is prone to affecting overpopulated areas with unclear urban environmental management plans. Additionally, other environmental problems such as earthquakes and hurricanes displace a large number of the population.
