Governments globally are working towards improving their urban environments. These include initiatives such as green infrastructure and urban green space. These initiatives are essential for creating pollution-free environments. Also, other sectors, such as logistics and supply chain, are embracing the concept. They are introducing initiatives for green logistics and green supply chains.

Some of the pollution contributors include air emissions from vehicles, oil spillage in water bodies, and excessive dumping. Also, the contribution of other factors is due to overpopulation. Pollution is prone to affecting overpopulated areas with unclear urban environmental management plans.
