This essay discusses on serial killer behavior and similarities in the behavior of famous serial killers. Most serial killers are manipulative, have personality disorders, predatory behavior and seem to have a history of childhood trauma. Personality disorders develop in abused children. Many researchers relate the behavior of female serial killers with abusive marriages and trauma from their childhood. Serial killers with aggressive predatory personality believe that other people are inferior, which makes it easy for them to justify hurting others. For some, hurting other people gives them a sensation that they seek in all their victims. Another typical serial killer behavior is manipulating others into doing their will.

THE MOST NOTORIOUS FEMALE SERIAL KILLERS
This section examines the behavior of some of the most notorious female serial killers. Many people consider and expect women to be gentle, kind and loving. Most people, therefore, think of serial killers as men. This is why studying the behavioral patterns of female serial killers is challenging. When researchers began studying female serial killer behavior, they found that several of them relied on poison to kill or harm their victims. However, researchers later found out that other serial killers are brutal in the way they hurt victims. Nannie Doss (Jolly Black Widow) killed about 11 of her relatives having undergone a rough childhood with her father. Another famous serial killer is Amelia Dyer. She would take in unwanted children, only to later strangle, starve, of drug them.

COMMON TRAITS OF FAMOUS SERIAL KILLERS
Many famous serial killers exhibit similar behaviors. Some, like Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy, were manipulative, deceitful, and smooth-talkers. Ted had the “perfect” mask, and Gacy’s neighbors seemed to like him. Once, he claimed that clowns could get away with murder. Jack the Ripper, Joel Rifkin, Andrei Chikatilo, and Rudolph Pliel also showed similar serial killer behavior. Jack was egocentric and would even send taunting letters to the police. Rifkin bragged about his victims and even argued with a fellow inmate on who had more victims. Rudolph Pliel claimed to have a good time with all the ‘surplus’ women. Thus, with female serial killers, most are vengeful towards people who traumatized them. They also show no remorse for their actions.
