This research paper revisits the various categories of theories of crime and other crime control models. The first category of theories of crime is theories that discuss the kinds of people. They attempt to answer questions regarding human nature and what motivates people to turn into crime. Reasons may include various motives, feelings, or situational factors. The second category discusses environmental factors as some of the causes of crime. Here, researchers attempt to explain why crime is higher in some areas compared to others. When it comes to crime, we focus on individuals. For crime rates, we put more focus on external factors i.e., the environment.

CRIME CONTROL MODELS AND DUE PROCESSES
By studying various theories of crime, experts in the field develop different models that integrate theoretical knowledge to come up with focus areas concerning crime. There are other due process modes meant to compliment crime control models. One of the key focus areas of crime control models is that repressing crime should be the most vital function of criminal justice. This concept arises from the idea that order is necessary for all societies. Criminal justice should, therefore, provide due process and fundamental fairness. Criminal justice should also work to determine the root causes of crime to establish the factual guilt of the accused.

THEORIES OF CRIME AND ROOT CAUSES OF CRIME
There are many causes of crime. The main ones include poverty, social and environmental effects, and family structures. Poor people resolve to crime due to a lack of financial and educational resources and employment opportunities. Many crime control models fail to account for most factors that lead to crime but focus on ensuring justice for victims. However, most people who commit crimes blame the governing systems for abandoning them. Most claim to have no hope, poor housing, and other people hold prejudice against poor people. Environmental theories of crime explain how social environments affect people’s behavior, and sometimes, this behavior leads to crime. Some of the social causes of crime are inequality, not sharing power, and the lack of support or leadership.
