POLITICAL SYSTEM OF CHARLOTTE AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF CHARLOTTE

There is a huge change in the political system of Charlotte and this affects the future development of Charlotte. Charlotte calls itself the Queen City. The nickname offers a hint that this community is older than the U.S. King George III still ruled the Colonies when European settlers chartered the town back in 1768. They named the new hamlet after the King’s wife, Queen Charlotte, and gave the surrounding county the name Mecklenburg in honor of her majesty’s birthplace in Germany. Several Charlotte political trends changed the history of North Carolina. Tryon, the city’s main street, still carries the name of North Carolina’s Colonial governor William Tryon. Interestingly enough, Tryon Street does not align with the compass, as in many Colonial towns. Instead, it runs along a low ridgeline with a diagonal slant. . Today’s Interstate 85 traces that same route. The political system of Charlotte is rich in history and the future development of Charlotte remains to become a success.

CHARLOTTE POLITICAL TRENDS AND NORTH CAROLINA’S POLITICS

North Carolina is an emblem of the New South and this is seen with the Charlotte political trends. In recent decades, significant population growth has dramatically altered the state’s demographics. Young professionals, non-native Southerners, Latinos, and other minorities have migrated to the state due to the booming housing market, an enviable higher education system, and the economic draw of Charlotte and the Research Triangle. The political system of Charlotte and the future development of Charlotte rely on ongoing political trends. Since the days of the Solid South, east and west have been the primary divide in North Carolina politics, with Democrats dominating in the east and Republicans having a base in the west. However, this disparity is diminishing due to partisan realignment and demographic change. Historically, the east-west divide stretched back generations: While the east was influenced by plantation agriculture and the related legacy of slavery, the soil further west was more suited to small farms and tobacco, resulting in a rural population that was far whiter, especially in Appalachia.

Home prices are growing about 3 percent a year, while the Charlotte MSA’s GDP grew 3.5 percent in 2017, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. The Charlotte political trends are also contributing to the future development of the city. Overall U.S. GDP grew 2.1 percent last year, compared with Atlanta (2.9 percent), Nashville (4.1 percent) and Orlando (1.9 percent). . A light rail and bus system has allowed Charlotte to avoid a lot of the bottlenecks and traffic congestion seen elsewhere. The city’s transportation infrastructure is spurring economic development.
