The federal government plays an active role in creating crime control policies. This is especially when crime rates are higher than usual. Policymakers have to undertake policy development processes to control many forms of crime. The processes involve problem identification, policy demands, and agenda formation. Afterward, policymakers decide on various approaches for policy adoption, implementation, and evaluation.
