Following his famous Emancipation Proclamation, he enacted measures to abolish slavery. Lincoln was correct in supporting the Union, which opposed slavery. Before Abraham Lincoln’s presidency, he wrote three short autobiographies. Steep obstacles and scant resources characterized Abraham Lincoln’s early life.
